The Reset Procedure?

I have just fitted a new Idle control valve and done the switch ignition on for 10 seconds (not starting the engine) and repeating for 3 times but it hasn't corrected the idling, which after installing the new valve is now revving over 4000 revs!

Is there something im not doing correctly? Its a replacement B28/00 or D95166 valve for a 1.4 16V X reg Si clio (98-01 shape).

Have you connected all the pipes? Sounds like it sucking in air maybe?

yeah everything is where it should be, the isn't a vacuum
around the seal
