Thermostat Housing Gasket

Hello all,

My coolant is spewing out all over my engine through a gap between my engine block and my thermostat. I've ordered a new housing but it's useless to me without a new gasket to go with it. So my question is where can I get the right shaped gasket for this part (pic below) becuase I can only find crazy shaped ones!

Mines from eBay so I'm assuming it will just be the housing :/ hopefully it will come with one though, I'm just thinking ahead

The seal goes around the thermostat so you won't find one for the housing. Seals are available from Renault but iirc they're about £8!!!

£8 for a seal! The new housing only cost me a fiver haha!

Yes I nearly shat my pants when I seen it! But I needed it ASAP so I had to get it

VERY close to me lol My closest renault dealer is Arnold Clark just off St Helens Linkway across from Ford where the Retail park is

The seal that goes around the thermostat itself came with the new thermostat in my case.

It wasnt a genuine Renault one though, although I can't see the difference between mine and the genuine ones.

It is indeed couple of minutes away, if that, I'll just pop into a dealer on my lunch break if my new one doesn't come with one.

Just been thinking, if the thermostat housing is plastic and it's connecting straight to the metal engine block then surely it's going to need something in between or I am thinking completely wrong?

Im sure mine (which was replaced 2 months ago ) had a little rubber O-Ring recessed into the adjoining faces so it sealed them when bolted
