Things that bug me when driving my 182

I love my clio 182, and am on to my second now (really want a 197 but have just bought a flat, so no chance :nono: - but maybe a trophy?), however there are some daily things that happen on my trips which are just plain annoying! I bet at least some of you have had the following...

• People flashing at you for having xenons as if you are dumb enough to have left your main beam on (i always main beam them back to make them look silly)
• A short rail bridge on the way to work always switches on my auto lights, and there is a junction behind it - so everyone jumps the gun and thinks i am flashing them to let them pull out!
• Other normal clios boy racing me. I'm never sure if i should be flattered, there aren't too many 182's round my way but lots of standard clios, and bloody hell do they love winding me up! I'm not sure if i should be flattered or if they are pissed off with me for having a better car. There is one local bloke with a clio that has a turbo and dump valve and he always chases... with blue smoke pouring out the back!

but the pro's far far outweight the cons!!!!

Really gets f**king annoying! I make sure they get blinded back.

And yeah, I get boy racers see the twin chav exhausts on the back and then sit right up my arse and try to get me to race. Little do they know I'm an arrogant b*****d that will just slow down to piss them off.

ha - you have hit the nail on the head!! Even worse (and chavvy) is when they sit on your arse, then when they do eventually turn off somewhere, they flash their lights at you!!

I had to adjust mine as they were a little high and I was fed up with people flashing me.

really?? how do i do this, or is it something renault have to fiddle with? Of course i could always choose a different route to work - or move house!!

Turn on the ignition, but do not start, put your lights on and off twice and your get a beep. job done

^ ignition on, then turn lights on, then off, repeat 3 times (i think) and you should hear a beep (i think!), probably in the manual

We have auto lights? :S How the hell do they work?

The fact that the xenons auto-level, but always seem too high really annoys me. And getting flashed all the time is pants... i just flash back.

The the auto wipers annoy me. As does the fact that there isnt a single wipe function on the stalk.

The clicking from the glovebox when i operate anything electrical really annoys me too.

I also hate the Drivers seat wont go any lower, and i dnt have enough to buy some recaros.

Boy Racers really annoy me. Especially Corsas, i FCKING HATE corsas with big exhausts.

The auto wipers annoy me because they are so utterly rubbish on mine. I wouldn't mind but there is no single wipe or intermitten setting!

single wipe, just giv it a tiny squirt of water, but so quickly none comes out, job done

Slight over exageration maybe The difference was massive compared to my old car though.

Yes we do! They switch on automatically when the light level is low, I love them! Yours must not be activated. As said above, turn on ignition then turn headlights on and off twice. You'll hear a beep - and there you go.

It's good cos you don't have to switch them on when you go through tunnels, and they also turn off automatically.

I'm a bit vague on this, but I think the only problem is you need to turn your headlights on using the stalk to get the front fogs to turn on (iirc??) but you hardly ever need fogs anyway. Someone will need to confirm this though!!

Annoys me i can't put rear fogs on without putting the fronts on aswell grrrr.
