This is Strange

Ill start by saying that when it comes to the mechanical side of cars i know very little so if this seems obvious then apologies.

I have a 1.2 dynamique which last month past its MOT. However the car has been running with a misfire for quite a while. I was made aware of this by renault after the MOT and explained i knew about it. Before the MOT the coil pack , fuel injector and all 4 spark plugs wrer changed in an attempt to solve the misfire. Making theses changes did make the problem better but never cured it.

The car , when picking away , stutters at the bite as if it is going to cut out but then catches. This happens when the engine is both cold and after a run. Hill starts are awful. I have to give it a good amount of revs for it to move. When the car is on the road , under 30mph or so it is fine but any sort of building of speed or gear changing after that , it really does struggle.(no 1.2 jokes please:eek:). Any revs above 4000 you can just feel it struggle to gain any speed.

I had it at a local garage today to ask their opinion of it so they checked on the diagnostic comp for any faults but none showed:S.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated as i need to get the car running properly as it needs to be sold in time for the new car coming.

I'm not sure if you actually have them (I thought you had 4 individual coil packs on the Mk2s??) but do you have HT leads or similar? If you do, it might be worth replacing them as if they're breaking down internally they won't carry as much power.

no dash lights on. the engine management light was on but went out when spark plugs where changed. Was at renault up in stirling for MOT and service then a garage my dads knows in Newmains next to the VW garage. I dont know enough about cars to understand what it could be so thats why im asking. Its really pissing me off that it keeps showing no fault:mad:

make sure that renault spark plugs were put in , very important , had problems like this with non spec plugs. also there is an ecu reprogramming for these symptomes, but thats dealer only.
also could be throttle body needs a clean.

sounds like every last garage they took it to were incompetant.
they check compression?
spark at each cyl?
plugs?
if no fault codes shown then its unlikely to be the wiring fault
