all cars have throttle bodies, the easiest way to describe it is a flap that opens and closes to let air into the inlet manifold. when people chat about throttle bodies in terms of tuning they mean multiple ones(one per cylinder on the car) as this helps the car breathe better and hence more power. most cars come with one throttle body as standard so you can gain power by changing that to multiple throttle bodies
can a throttle body from a different engine give improvement? i have a 1.2,16v and shelling out loads would be pointless. think i heard of someone putting a megane throttle body on a 1.4,16v. not sure what the outcome of it was though. obviously there would be more to it than just plonking it on, but what is needed to make it work?
lol, they are quite expensive and you wont see a 40bhp hike on a 1.4 on bodies alone, maff i think its possible to swap some of the OE throttle bodies over and see some improvements but they wont be big, BenR is the best man to ask as to which can be put on to which and if there is any benefit
