Throttle Bodies

Could some one enlighten me on throttle bodies. How much does it cost to say install itb's on say a 1.4 renault 5? What is needed? Is it something you can do yourself? What if I were to use bike carbs?

If someone could point me to any threads it would be appreciated as I did a search and didn't find much.

Um 1.4 Renault 5... Would this be ran of a dizzy? If so bike carbs and its pretty simple and cheap to do

if you want a quick bit of extra power use the gt turbo exhaust mani and urbo exhaust setup with the gtt inlet and carb setup and the gtt aei, should get away with about 5-6psi of boost and about 95bhp

Would bike carbs see any increase in power or just make it extremely loud? How much would it cost to set up? Would I use two or 4 carbs?

Wouldn't that involve pushing exhaust gasses back through the engine?

Depends what you do.. theres obviously going to be less restrictive air flow which is the whole reason for ITBs. But if your going to have carbs then get a cam / set of cams to work with them and then get them jetted properly and advance the timing to suit. Im not familiar with the these engines though as i work for Peugeot and Citroen not Renault... I assume there 8v?

Yes its 8v. I don't have any experience with engines at the moment, but I am planning on making a road legal rally car but due to insurance I want to get the most out of a small engine then pay loads for a 2 litre. How much would I be looking to spend to make a 1.4 fast?

96bhp!!??? out of a 60bhp engine??!!
