Thumb grip

Hi,

does anyone have a left hand thumb grip from a ph2 172 they'd like to sell?

think you can only get carbon fibre ones tbh and they come as a pair. I am pretty sure you cant buy OEM thumb grips as singular items.

Yeah that seems to be the situation ^ I went for the carbon route, quite happy with it reallly. You two of you could always half-in on a set

Not sure that would look any better than my worn one! Seems a bit of a gap in the market here. Wonder if my local scrappy has any 172s... It's a long shot!

If anyone had a mold for it and could put some leather or something over it or something they could make a mint!

Definitely my biggest pet peeve. Agreed Dan, Someone should fill that gap. Wasn't there someone on here once reupholstering steering wheels in leather?

Just saw these on flat-eric's car. Would love something like that.

Defo a gap in the market, just for some fiberglass ones at least to half the daft price of the carbon ones

There is a guy in this thread does retrimming and apparently has done it for members here via proxy. Works at bentley but no pics of his work. £120 plus postage for full leather retrim.

Pretty great value compared to carbon thumb inserts.

I dropped him a line, he replaces them with leather. Not sure how he does it, maybe he could make thumbgrips only, seems unlikely though.
