Time has come to lower my clio

  Clio_Smart
After countless times me thinking actually it would look so much better.

I have a mk2 ph1 clio modded.

It has 15" dynamique alloys.

How low shall i go ?

Do i need to buy shocks aswell ?

What do i need to buy ?

Where from ?

Thanks

im doing a coilover group buy in the for sale section, these will be FK's so you can adjust the ride height to suit.

Or springs and shocks on their own, PM me and ill try to help.

Can you guys tell me a little about lowering please.

Do i need new shocks for springs.

Dont really to go mad and buy coilovers as its only a mk2 ph1 not like a 172/182 etc lol

Any websites :D

I have just fitted 60mm Spax springs to mine.

You can pick them up for about 50 second hand and aslong as you reasonably confident with cars you can fit them yourself.

The handling is better and the ride isn't as hard as I was expecting.

As for looks - it looks a million times better. Number one mod IMO.

If you want to spend a bit more you can get a kit which will prevent increased wearing of tyres and springs but will cost 200 quid or maybe a little more.

Coilovers are the ultimate for handling but you will pay for this. They cost around 400-450 and then another 100 getting them setup. You can however choose the ride height as you wish and many say the ride is better than just with springs.

Hope this helps

Handling matters on all cars forget trying to save a few quid just buying cheap springs IMO. Spend some money or not at all. Renault invested a load of money no £50 springs are anywhere near what Renault desinged.

Bottom price coilovers are £420 or so for FK's (which are good way better than just spring or just replacment dampers and springs)but you can pay a forutne for coilovers the more the often better with place like Leda and H and R leading the way at £750~£1.5k prices)

Tyre wear has no effect on what springs etc you use thats down to suspension setups and driver.
