Time to start the mods !!

  RS 182 FF
Right I now have a nice 182 ff in black sitting in my garage and have to say first impressions are good.....nice and fast but best of all the way it go rounds these Cornish bends is great and going to take some getting use to , waiting for the summer traffic to die down a bit before really going for it !!

So here I am asking for some more advice from the boys that know ;

1st : - I have been looking and seen some people have added induction kits to their cars , I believe the change is minimal but the sounds can be good ? :D ..Some have made them themselves and used coloured hosing etc could someone let me know where I would get this from and also maybe sizing as well ? I've seen some are longer then others ( so says the misses !!:nono: ) and does this make any difference ?

2nd : - EXHAUSTS !!! Now I've been looking and reading yet again and it seems too me this is the one mod that can get the car heading towards that 200bhp that we would all want ?!!?!. Just looking for some help in makes of exhaust ( anyone selling one ? ) or even ideas to anything else that would do the job better and quicker.......and maybe cheaper ?

So while I wait for hopefully some replies and help on this I'm off for another drive to put a smile on my face again .....

you will need a lot more than an exhaust to get to 200bhp. Your better off getting it on a RR first, as the chances of it having the 179bhp it should do are slim.

Good brake set up, and sorted handling will be far more worth while imo for now, unless you get your wallet out!

Yeah dude, You'll need either an RS2 + Decat + Cams or an ITB Build for 200 Horses on this motor, in other words you'll need at least 3K to do it.

All the above is really good info! Summer beer & BBQs, solid brakes or just petrol is the best way to spend "cheap" money on these cars given that extracted power is so hilariously expensive.

However induction kits do put a smile on your face! Aim to "not loose" power as opposed to gain it, have a read of this if you're interested http://www.cliosport.net/forum/show...ticle-reveals-the-truth&p=9573695#post9573695 or just search "ktec style induction" for ideas & exact bits people have bought to make their own kit (rather than pay £150/£200 for virtually the same stuff but put in a box and a "clio induction kit" label slapped on it) but basically it's all 70mm ID/OD stuff. IIRC to located the filter infront of the battery you need a bend with a 150mm radius.

People replace exhausts mainly because if the standard item hasn't already fallen off, then it will soon. People seem to find cheaper systems like ktec supersport & sport and to some extent the Miltek too loud and boomy for day to day use. Scorpion stuff (RS192 or SN019 for lots of noise) is popular because it sounds raspy not boomy and is relatively cheap, but people question build quality occasionally. BTM (a trader on here) produce probably the most popular system for noise/fitment/quality/overall, but the price reflects the quality.

Loads of videos & threads on exhaust noise.

Many thanks lads for all the info...200bhp out the question then ? I do like to tinker on things though so will be doing some reading and learning I think ......Thanks for the link Steve as well that is a good read and just what I needed .....RS2 as well, don't kill me but what is that ?

And madcarl27 I spent all day in bed yesterday after spending all night on a stupid ( should know better at my age ) drinking session .....will we ever learn !!!LOL..I'm deepest darkest Cornwall though so nowhere near Newquay ....more like Lands end !!!

An RS2 is a custom inlet, as seen at the front of the bay here:

I'd like to say there's a few meets in Cornwall, but sadly nobody goes so there aren't any at the moment :dapprove:
