Tinting

How do. Was planning on getting tints front and rear to go along with the stealth theme I kinda have going on, but dont know how dark to go. I know you can abuse the back 3 but dont want to go pitch back as it looks stupid, but I dont know what the limit is on the front 2. Does anyone have any idea, and opinions will be appriciated :)

Dont think you touch the front two am afraid.

30% is the limit but the majority of cars already have a standard tint on and if you put the film over it, would take it over the limit. That what i was told by the tinting firm

Ah right, so if I can say 20% it wont be over, theres no way my windows are 10% or more, they looks like they have a greeny tint to them? or is that just me?

There will be a slight tint to them anyway. You can add more, but not very much.

Don't go too mad and you should be fine with the 5-0.

If you just do the the rears it looks like a van and looks awful.

How can a policeman tell the difference between 20%-40% they cant and for that reason alone its not worth taken the risk. You might no there legal but theres no way to prove it. Most police wont accept any tints on the front.

Don't tint the fronts. You wouldn't drive around with sunglasses at night. So don't tint the fronts. Simple.

Is that a serious reply?

How can they tell the difference between 20-40MPH?

Speed gun, many other ways. Speeding is a serious affence so Why your comparing it with i dont no! If a policeman says your tints are illegal and you say there not theres only going to be one winner. And i dont think a test kit is something every police carrys.

They'll have a test kit in their little bag of tricks... Iirc its something like 15% front. My mates lupo came standard with front tints which were apparently illegal lol 'security tint' or something

My car had tints when I bought it. Never thought anything of it until Pc Plod pulled me over for my number plate and then just as he was about to let me go he said "Oh, lets test your tints shall we". Little machine out, 37% c**t. £30 fine.

Well a mate of mine got pulled over for his and got told to take them off. He said there legal but that means F all if he has know way of proven it. And most people wouldnt go to hassle to argue it out. People go on about pressed plates and how there so called illegal when there not, but you still hear about people getting fines.
