I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT ON MY CAR THE REAR WINDOW HAS TO BE DONE IN TWO SECTIONS. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS DONE? IF SO HOW BAD DO U NOTICE THE JOIN.

Had tints done on my car and yea the bloke had to fit it in two sections but he has done a top job and u can not see the join

i cnt c how it can b dun in 1 coz of the curve of tne window unless there r small cuts round the edges where the curve is.

its normal 2 b dun in 2 so 2 allow 4 the curve
 


Yep, it can be done in one piece, but only by the best tinting shops. I was talking to the owner of the place who did my tints (Advanced Auto Tinting Centre in Glasgow), and he was saying that although they do it in one piece, everywhere else (including Pentagon) in Glasgow do it in two, or even three, sections, and this can cause problems (peeling away, dust, etc.). Magma seem to be the best place in Edinburgh/the east. Its worth paying a little more if you can find somewhere able to do it in one piece.
 


They do it by heating the film. Apparently theres no visual distortion/lightening of tints if they stretch it the small amount needed to curve it round the rear window. Mine looks perfect and its been done this way. They do charge £240+VAT tho.
