To polish or to replace...

it wasnt a dig mate but think of it from your polisher guy's point of view...

"this guy just used 800 grade paper on his car, what a melon! he will be happy as long as its shiney!"

its good you have an eye for detail though, you will get pissed at it though! you start seeing swirls everywhere!

Yeah think he must have thought that really, but for 25 quid which was half his quote I just thought "it's reasonable im skint having just bought HID let's just go!

To be fair, swirls are far easier to sort than sanding marks, especially for a noobie (no offense, Ethan).

Don't worry I am a noobie, ill happily admit I'm a noobie with detailing but keen to learn and get more experience :) what's annoyed me is you can still see the sanding marks slightly in the right light, and you can see swirls... do you think I could take it back and say look you can still see scratches? It was a cash in hand job for his time so have a feeling he'll want more for that :(

no. my bet is youve done too much damage to the bonnet to completley get rid of the sanding marks unfortunatley.

could be wrong though.

It may be worth you making a little shopping basket of a da and polishes/ pads for when you next have cash and have a go at cutting it out yourself.

August :( first ever proper pay day! Until then gunna go at it with the G3 and a microfibre and see if it makes any difference at all, if not might look for a detailer or a member on here who wants to do it for a drink or two ;)
