TOAD ALARMS HELP PLEASE

Hi all, Im looking to improve the securtiy on my Cup, and was wondering what Alarms work well alongside the standard stuff fitted?

Can anyone help, all advice welcome, and PMS.

Toad T850i. Upgrades the Thatcham 2 immobiliser to full Cat 1 and uses the original key fob. You can fit a proximity sensor too to warn people that you have an alarm.....SO DONT TOUCH!

the Toad Ai606 i used in my last car was a quality bit of kit, never faile on me and with a price around £250 you cant argue at the value (plus its cat 1 approved, so keeps the thieving scum out)

I am gonna invest in a new alarm for my 16V, what can you recommend for under 300 notes? Would the original renault immobilser still work? thus having 2 immobilsers i.e cheaper insurance?

insurance companies dont often take the 2nd security into account (some do though including Adrian Flux - i think)

yes you can have both immobs working together, not sure if you will experience any problems though

I had a TOAD 850 installed bu Covert in about 2 hours after a recommendation on this website. Also got a shock sensor and total closure fitted and it all works of the original keyfob... bargain.

Whats the proximity thingymajug do then? Is it worth it or is it just gonna tempt local kids to set of the "get off or Ill break yer legs" message a-la-Peter-Kay stylee...?!

It just bleeps if anyone gets close. It can get a bit annoying though especially parked on a busy street in town.

I found their advice very helpful.

Incidentally, I enquired about having something fitted by GAP but was informed that they had been removed from their list of accredited companies due to a poor customer service record.
