Toby's Two Tone 1.6 MK2 PH2

  Edition 30
Hey people, thought I would start this early because I'm all excited like a little kid. Pick up my Clio on Tuesday morning and I can't wait!

Its a 53 plate, 1.6 16v Dynamique in cyclone blue (I think that's the right colour name?)

Here is a few pics from the seller...

Not got many plans yet really.

First thing I think will be some alloys and suspension.

I'm not the best person mechanically so things like exhaust and engine will be done at a later date.

May purchase some seats and a new wheel but again later. I have funds but they are limited :D

Also I live out in the stick and regularly drive along country lanes etc so i'm thinking a very slight rally theme. Nothing too heavy.

ICE wise it's standard, i'm not a mad fan of kitting your car out with ££££'s worth so a new head unit, sub and amp are probs my limit.

If I sort the suspension out I may look at things like strutt braces etc for the performance and look maybe some mudflaps, but no s**tty cut out one's from halfords.

All opinions/ideas welcome and I will keep on top of this hopefully.

Re: Not so much a Project...

Pretty sure that looks like Naughty blue dude, same as this:

If you want rallye inspired car, but still tidy looking I'd stick some white 2118's on it, coilies/solid top mounts/strut braces for the whole suspension lot. Some decent seats, hardly any interior with an OMP/Sparco wheel.

Would go down a right treat.

Look forward to seeing it change! :)

Re: Not so much a Project...

Love this colour, you only need to do a few things really, lower it, rs grille, new alloys if you wan't but the ones you have on now would look good in a different colour.

Not exactly in Nottingham mate, I'm just up the A1 in Newark.

I'm always round Grantham, Lincoln or Nottingham.

I'm loving the colour too.

I'm thinking white rims and lower it first two jobs.

RS grille will be coming but when I don't know...

I thought about standards in a different colour but loadsa peeps do that i'm go a little different.

Re: Not so much a Project...

30/40 quid or so for an RS grille, best bet is joining the membership thingy and just keeping a look out in the FS section.

Re: Not so much a Project...

I don't think there are many people who have painted the standard dynamique alloys? Most ditch them and get the sport ones. RS grill is a must have tbh, also little things like spraying badges look good.

I'll look into it mate, get some photoshop skills out. I know a local sprayer who did my 205 Gti wheels for a good price, might ask him.

Re: Not so much a Project...

Do you have a lolour in mind? Anthracite looks very nice against the blue, but it's very common nowadays..

Re: Not so much a Project...

Not sure, I had my heart set on white but i'm unsure.

I'm not a standard looking kinda guy, knowing me they will end up yellow or purple!

I'm off out now dude thanks for the advice.

Re: Not so much a Project...

Picked her up this morning.

Wow its such a change from a 1.1 106 and a 1.9 diesel ZX.

My dad drives a Scooby WRX and he was impressed when he took her out for a spin.

Few little bits to sort out, new wipers all round, get my private plate on, new car mats e.t.c will all be done by end of this week hopefully.

Pics up later...

Re: Not so much a Project...

Re: Not so much a Project...

Looks like a very tidy lil car....and definatly the best colour ;)

White goes very well with Nautical Blue, i had white bits on mine before and thought the two colours looked good.

White 2118's would look awesome on it!!

Exactly my thinking mate.

I'm in two minds, standard alloys with respray and new tires (I can get this done cheapish) or new alloys and new tyres.

If I go for the cheaper option, more money to spend on suspension...

Re: Not so much a Project...

Can't go wrong with a fresh set of plates!

Made your mind up about what you're doing with the wheels yet mate?

Re: Not so much a Project...

Love those wheels! I wanted them in anthracite, but after looking at the state of my standard alloys i have no doubt they would have be f*cked within months!

Remember you'll make a bit back by selling the wheels you have at the moment.

Re: Not so much a Project...

Yeah had thought about that. But also probs have to inform insurance about aftermarket wheels.

I'm not a very good decision maker :O

I'll have to decide after payday on the 29th!
