having problems with my Nokia E51

am unable to receive emails when NOT in an a WIFI area.


please help....please

Maybe check in mail settings which internet connection it's set to use?

the guy in the o2 shop says" I am out the correst settings"

I can browse the internet/google on WAP etc no problem....but can't send/receive emails

Well if the email is only working when you're connected to a WiFi network, then it sounds like the email has been set to use a WiFi connection somehow. Just need to swap the connection over to your GPRS/3G connection.

I use Mail for Exchange so mine is probably different.

are you using an E51???

basically I want to be able to get emails at work....where we have no WIFI.

did not know it would be so difficult

what smtp server are you using?
what email are you checking

I have BTinternet for emails on my mac etc...and assumed this is what I use on the phone too?

When in the house I can receive emails via my wifi router.

Pulling my hair out over this at the moment

You need to use 02's SMTP server, that will fix it.
