what would be the tell tale signs of too much laquer being applied to a surface?

erm, depends how its been applied, there's nowt wrong with too much, just as long as it isn't covered in runs etc

^ thats what i said in my pm just. I spray the laquer on my badges so thick to the point it almost runs. The only time you may have put it on to thick is if it goes cloudy, which judging by the pics you've sent it hasnt. The thicker you can get away with the better, and more resillient. As said in pm i reckon the problem is due to preparation more so

cloudy is fine when its wet, it will go clear when it dries

^ not always. if your doing it outside in the sun it'll dissapear, but do it on a cold damp day in your garage and it'll stay and tits up your spray job as i've often found to my dismay lol
