Lightweight alloys
Sticky tyres
Get rid of the bumps and knocks in the sides of my car!!

lol @ bumps and knocks in side of car, mines the same.

I think all thats listed above on Non renaultsport cars + colour coding

On Renaultsport models I would say all of that and BenR's inlet manifold work to make sure the car is pushing out the power it should be + a little bit more

Explain the Benr manifold ?

BenR matches the inlet manifold and can also work the plenum. You'll find due to manufacturing tolerances that most 172/182's dont actually deliver the power they should, by having the inlet manifold work done, which is where the power is lost in the first place, it matches this correctly and will at least make the car return the power it should from the factory, and normally increases power as well, with the plenum work it increases power further.

The stage 1 work (inlet manifold) is around £180, noit sure on the work including the plenum.

Silly question , but what are silvervisions?

Silvervisions are indicator bulbs, they have a silver coat to them so they dont look orange, egg effect etc

lessons on driving my car to its full potential.

I think thats the best performance increase money can buy imo. :)

true, but the question was best mods for under £500, not the best way to spend £500 on your car. If thgat was the case then my list would look like this:-

Full service with high quality oil, sparks, leads ect.
Advanced driving course
Institue of Advanced motorists
As many track/airfield days as you can fit in.
and after all that, new rubber and brake pads

That looks like a better list!
Will go faster after all that than previous list of mods.

dont be such a c**k theres a lot matt could teach you about cars

i'm not being a c**k. I know theres a lot matt could teach me about cars, infact theres alot most members of this forum can/have taught me about cars, i was merely pointing out that what matt said isnt a mod, and is something that ALL car owners should do, not just those of us that want to modify our cars.

^^^That will make your car faster than ANY mod.
I have a friend with a RS focus, but if you put him on a track he'd lose out to someone in a 1.8Zetec focus who could drive.
Removing Excess weight(seats/spare/trim) has made my car quicker in a straight line, than anything ive had modified engine wise.

heh

spend as many thousands on mods as you like... if your a s**t driver the mods arent gonna do you any good at all.

Whereas learning to drive "properly" is much better value for money :)
