iv reached 117mph in my 1.2 16v Dynamique, flat road but it took ages. wots the most ne1s had out of their 1.2??

Ive only had 109 out of mine, had to slow down for the sunday driver. Ive got no engine mods but do have a boot full of ice

iv lifted the lid on my air filter recently, it makes a nice noise but it lacks top end i get just ova 100mph now. but acceleration has improved noticeably.

i had 127mph at 6500rpm in 5th (limiter) - though most people will say i havent

according to the renault figures, the top speed of the gearbox is 124.8mph

Look Wheeeeeyyyyyyyy Ive had 190mph out of my 1.2 16v. it completely standard, but I own it so it must be the fastest!!!

Not that I disagree but seems strange a 1.2 does 127mph and my 1.8 valver only does 130mph?

Perhaps I bought the wrong car?

Surely the insurance on a 1.2 is cheaper for almost the same performance?

hes never had 127mph out of a 1.2. hes either

1. tekkin the pee

2. his speedo is messed up

3. he drives by remote control from the roadside and has it full of helium baloons.

127 indicated and 120mph tested with gps.

well if you take the figures from renault, the maximum speed of the gearbox is actually 124.8 mph

it is nowhere near the same performance as a valver, the valver gets to its top speed far far quicker than the 1.2 16v, but top end they certainly are not disappointing

i know the figure i had out of mine, tom claims to have the same figure, and IIRC fred is only a couple of mph down, but riding on 17s

there is no doubt that the speedo is not 100% accurate, but even with a 10% margin of error (maximum allowed for legal reasons) that still makes 114.3mph (indicated 127mph) which to be honest, would not be too far out

i can well believe tom that the gps indicated 120mph

coming back from york in july i averaged just over 100mph for a 2 hours (10 minute stop at motorway services) overtook hippychick and roamer on the a14, went past them briskly and they were travelling at somewhere in the region of 90-100mph (then roamer blasted past at 140mph )i would say i was passing them at around 15-20mph more than they were travelling

it is possible to get silly speeds out of the 1.2 16v clio, just takes a while to do

i have a 0-100 mph vid of my 1.2 16v clio if you would like proof that they can get there, limiter in 4th is 100mph, just a matter of waiting and hoping (the police are nowhere near you)
