Torsion Bar Fcuked

while trying to adjust my torsion bar, i think it must had been rusted in... i acidentally snapped the thredded bolt which i was trying to get it out with... and its still stuck inside!!!! is it f**ked now??? one side has been lowered and the other is still sitting high..... do i need to get a whole new rear axel? help need asap thanks

You should be able to use a reverse thread extraction tool to get the rest of the bolt out (easyout or whatever theyre called). When trying to get the torsion bar out did you first absolutely soak the splined sections in wd40 or similar to make sure they had the best chance of getting them out?

i use a bottle of WD 40 on the bar, so your saying there is hope to get it out? i really need help casuse i aint got £500 to get it fixed..... all advice will help thanks

You can drill it out ok, just go carefully center punch it and start with a small drill !!!!! youll need a tap to clean it out after.

happened to my mates 51 plate 206 lol!!! Pug crap. It can be drilled out n re-threaded :)

...or if you were to drill sommet like a 3mm hole in the centre of the bolt, get some long self tapping screws, screw them in a bit and use the screw to unscrew the threaded bar.

Or....

Drill out a 4mm hole in the centre, thread it, and thread a 4mm bolt in and use that to unthrad the threaded bar

cheers for all the advice just one final thing..... im driving around with one side of my torsion bar lowered, can i do any harm to the car?

1,try and remove the bolt with some easy outs.

2,drill out the bolt and rethread the hole.

3,remove all the other torsion bars so you could try and knock the stuck torsion bar out with a hammer from the inside.
