Toshiba external hard drive fault

I have an external hard drive which has stopped working.

when I plug into my laptop or tv its not getting recognised it lights up and u can hear it spinning but just not getting recognised .

i would just normally bin it but has some info on it what I need.

Try taking it out of the enclosure and plugging it in directly to a PC somewhere.
