The Tarmac spec rally cars were pretty similar and if they ran them balls out round IOM and on Irish rally stages with all the fucked up lanes and backroads to contend with it couldn't have been that bad. I'll grant you they were probably running remote reservoir dampers which would cope better than the basic coilovers on that particular car.

the majority of older cars are better looking, better to drive (for driver experience) etc etc etc than newer cars
