towing.....

hello,

Right as I understand, cos I passed my test after 01/97, I cant tow another vehicle on a trailer cos it will be heavier then 750kg, but can I tow the empty car trailer?? (So that I can pick up the trailer and get someone else to deliver the car).

and its 76 quid for the test on week days and 94 quid for the weekend.

you cant legally tow anything without a towing licence, not even another car, let alone a trailer with a car, then again it hasnt stopped me. i dont know if all rossers will know the law, but i had to tow a friend in a mk1 golf along the A1 so thought id check before, the chief at the cop shop said i cant tow anything, i did anyway, just had to be more careful. if your really bothered then get your test, or have someone older whos got "grandfather rights" to do it.

I think ivelooked into this before, no one quite knew where you had to go to take the test. I guess this might have changed by now though.

i passed about 7 years ago so passed before that rule came in.
