Toxic Fume Monitoring Warning Light

Went to start my car this morning and this light started flashing on the dash. And after a short drive down my road just to see how the car was, the light came on permanently, and the car felt very rough through the revs. There was also a bit of an odd smell at the start but that has since gone.
Any idea what could be wrong or what could have caused it? Car is booked in for MOT so i will not drive it til then

toxic fume light is a warning of a fair few things. if youve left your car for a while start it again and see what its like

Same happened on mine.....misfire on a cylinder and new HT leads required
