Toyo T1-R's

S&K

  182 cup + Elise
I'm about to order a set of these from Camskill but before I do I just wanted to make sure I'm going for the right choice. I have done a search on here and I think I am right in choosing these? I am looking for a decent set of road / track tyres, I would have gone for 888's or similar but the car is used mainly by my dad and will be used over winter by him so don't really want him scaring my mum to death on the weekly shopping run round wet round about's. I am on a bit of a budget as I need to replace the brakes on the 182 and get the Elise serviced all before Christmas as well as getting a TD or two in before then :) So are these OK for what use they will get ?

I thought they were alright, not great in the wet though.

I've had mine for about a year now... been on track with them too. great all round tyre for the money. not great in the wet though, as said.

Hankook V12 Evo's, very little extra but one of the better tyres on the market.

I have T1-R's on the williams, and want to get them changed ASAP.

I really liked these tyres! Never really read bad reviews on them before this thread!

An aternative you could try are the Parada Spec 2's, they are awesome in the dry but in the wet they are questionable.

most tyres that have good dry weather grip are poor in the wet but for the same sort of price there are better out there, imo the side walls are too soft but it comes down to personal preferance...

i had set on the cup not bad, also agree with the wet situation. but for the price you can usually get them for i reckon there worth it

I just got two T1Rs for the front. They may not be the best tyre, so the PE2s are a better choice. But for 60 quid for the two, you cant complain.

For the money i think they're good. Good in the dry but not so good in the wet. Not very good on the track.

Heard good stuff about RS2's.

So what would be the best bet for a decent all round tyre, got a budget of around £400

  172 cup, Impreza P1
I've got them on my impreza p1 and they do all that is asked of them. When pushing on they tend to slide a bit but it's controlled. Never tried them on the cup. For the money they have my vote.

Don't think they would be up to much on track though.

The Toyo's are £20 each cheaper in a 205/45/16 than the RS2's. If your going to track it go for the RS2's.
