Trade in prices

Just been to enquire about getting a 172, was offered £6k trade in for my 1.4 16 with 2k on the clock....had at least hoped for £6750 but £6k was their only offer and best they would offer a 172 cup for was £12500.....think i will do some calling about other dealers

Haggle! Keep going on about how the price for the cup is fine, but the trade in price is no good at all. After all, it is nearly new and theyll sell it on no problem etc. etc. Think youll be best arguing over the trade in price rather than the price of the Cup with a dealer....

Trade in prices for new cars are always low, as the dealer wants to make at least a grand profit from your car.

Sell it privately;)

Tell em youll sell it to them for £6495 in that case! They can make their money on the Cup rather than on both cars....!

For an older Dynamique than yours with 2k on the clock the dealer should be offering £6390. Id say that they will offer more. Tell them about the price on Parkers. They will haggle if they think they can sell you the car (the b******s!)

Been to order the missus a 1.2 Dynanique this morning , 2 sport family now!

While we were there got the salesman to give me a price for my 172 , I know its an import but its only 7months old and 58oo miles on the clock, the b*****d offered me £10000 for it , then kept asking how i Knew if it was UK spec or not. Renault customer relations at their best:mad:. Went somewhere else to buy the new one.:)

Traded in my old 306 for a Honda Jazz for my mum, bloke said he would give me £950 trade in, but he only been offered £500 for it. Then spoke to my mate who sells used cars (couldnt get hold of him at the time) and he said he would have give me £1000. Well pissed off, lying bast*rd, anyway hes only got one key for it and he get sod off for the other.

By they way odered a new CUP £12150 all in, also 20 litres of fuel, should have pushed a bit harder though.

Ive just recently bought a new Clio billabong, I traded my mk2 Punto in against it and I took the Parkers guide with me so they had to give me the trade value of the car which was 3300, but if I hadnt have taken it they would have only offered me 2800!!!

well i was offered 5K for mine standard (13k on clock) and 5.5K with wheels and lights left in, think he wanted the stereo too but he can jump. Thats for a Jan 2002 51 plate dynamique.

Best keeping the cars for at least 24 months so u loose less, 1st year is a killer for depreciation!

I have been offered £6200 straight purchase from dealer.

Thats a 51 Dyna + 1.4 16V with 12k on the clock.
