transplant ideas

hey guys, soz to be rude and put a new topic on this as i know the matter has been covered many times but I need more help into how much the parts would cost and if anything who could do a full transplant and supply the parts. Ive got a mk1 phase three 1.2RL clio, and am thinking very seriousely about a renault 5gtt transplant.

few questions:

Who can suplly all the parts and transplant it all in?

How much roughly does it cost?

How long does the labour work take to complete?

Where abouts are these installers?

Ineed as much guidance on this as possible please guys, on a bit of a budget and will be doing it al over a matter of time, got about a k to get me started then will do the brakes and parts other than the engine at a later date.

1k all in is not really enough to get everything you need for the 5gtt transplant!! :(

although 1k is all you would need for a 16v lump transplant!! funnily enough im selling my 16v engine all the bits youd need! ;) pm for details...

whichever conversion you choose to go with - contact Jon at Torsion Tuning on 07949200705! :)

They are masters of all Renault engine conversions and are the most experienced renault engine conversion company out there!! Indeed they were the original pioneers of the 5gtt->clio engine transplant!! :)

wkd cheers mate, thing is i really want a turbo ,

how much would it roughly cost through that contact? also could you pm me with a price for all the valver kit, as i may be intersted.

Looking at a grand alone just for the conversion. Youd need a whole doner car as well. Youd have a few options there, get a fully working road going car that shouldnt have any need for an engine re-build or get a cheaper car thats not in use and have it re-built. Youd be safer going for the latter as GTT engines often have blown head gaskets among other things if not treated right.

Be fun though having a turbos up "1.2" - few suprising traffic light grand prixs!

having gone from a valver lump to gtt, the turbo engine just makes the 16v look crap. as above get in touch with torsion and they will sort you out.

Its 1k to drop the engine in the car then you need an engine and the other bits you need ie intercooler piping.

I believe torsion tunning will drop a 16V in the car for just over £1300 and that includes engine etc.

speak to Andy at GDI about the options on conversions

07010 716440

i had my 1.4RT done with a 5GT Turbo engine

buy a full donor car not just an engine, as there will always be the odd bit you need to steal off the old car, i got a running GTT for £350

lots of people on here have had work done at GDI and his work is top notch

do a search on this forum for threads started my me for loads and loads of pics of my conversion

id budget £2k to pay for labour, a donor car, and a few new parts, theres no point spendin all that money and puttin in an engine thats done 90k+, definitely get a few parts replaced before it goes in, Andy can advise you on all this

oh and GDI is based in Cambridge, i travelled from St Helens, Merseyside, to get mine done, which in a way shows you just how good his work is based on how far i was willing to travel to get it done properly......
