trip computer misleading

i was just going through the menues on the trip computers whilist waiting at the lights today and realised that the real time fuel consumption menu shows 0.0 when i dont have my foot on the gas. shouldnt it theoretically show at least something as idling still requires fuel.....

No that would be correct. 0mpg cos you arent moving. I dont have that feature on my cup hmmmm

ur car still burns fuel though when its idling though

maybe u reset the computer and as u were only at the lights a few minutes u didnt burn even .1 gallons of fuel so it wouldnt register ???? maybe

But as Wayne says, youre not moving, so even if you use 1000 gallons of petrol, youll have still travelled zero miles, hence 0.0 miles for every gallon of fuel used!
