Tripods!

Going to Jessops in a lil while to buy a tripod! anything anyone recommends? its for my D40! Would prefer somthing compact, but as well i want it to be tall enough to be used sensibly! what is a good height?
I was looking at this???

I've not used it, so can't really comment; but bear in mind that your D40 weighs over 500g. That tripod is only recommended for weights up to 700g, so it doesn't give you much room for manouvre.

If you don't want to spend a lot on one then fair enoof, but it's probably worth spending a bit more and getting a Manfrotto or something similar.

^^^I have searched! but noone had mentioned that tripod, and most wernt at jessops!

Ok so really its not sturdy enough, ok perhaps i will go for one of the higher models, just liked it because it was half price

I have a velbon cx480 tripod iirc it was £50.

tescos £10 cant beat if mate its great value for money and just as good as a £65 jessops one

Sturdy enough for my needs and easy to use too, also has retractable spike feet for outdoor use and carry case.

Same as mine lol, only bought it as I'd lost the head off my older one.

Feels a bit flimsy but does the job

I have one, I use it as a spare as I find that when you put it on full extension, it doesn't seem stable with DSLR's with heavier lenses on. I use an old Slik 88 Tripod on a regular.
