tuning advice

My standard mk1 172 is currently running a K+N57i.
is it worth my while fitting a silenced/unsilenced decat
to the car with a standard exhaust system?
Will it sound any better? more to the point, will it go any better?

Prospeed deal in custom exhausts IIRC. Seem to have a very good reputation round these parts.

Consider Hayward and Scott exhausts too, thay have a good reputation as stated by a lot of the guys on here.
