Whats an avrrage decent price for fitting tyres?

My camskill order arrived this morning but my local place wants £16 to fit each tyre ans balance. So £64! Pricey??

I think its about £4-£5 per tyre included valves and balancing . I thinks its like an extra £1 to get them dispose of your old tyres too so about £20-25 is average i would say no more then £30. £64 would be ok if it included wheel alignement & geometry on all 4 weels.

Ouch! Few places round here do it for £10 a wheel. My girlfriends brother used to work at thread first so done mine for beer money but I wouldn't expect to pay more then £10 a wheel now tbh!

That's just untrue - Hankook Ventus V12's in 205/45/16 are around £30 cheaper than "fitted" at a garage using Blackcircles or going straight to the garage.

Encorporate £10 for fitting and that's a £20 saving PER TYRE... plus I've never seen any garage around my area that won't fit supplied tyres!?

Ok cheers guys. I got a mate who works in this place, i asked of he was in and they said yeah. But i already have a quote from them.

Yeah was 16 plus an extra quid to get rid of the old ones. On place wanted £19 each corner. Lol.

Ill keep ringing around, national tyres and ats wouldnt do it. Even tried my local halfords fit garage. Wouldnt do it.

Just had mine done for £60 (so £10 aeach). That was for taking a couple of tyres off existing alloys and swapping them onto a new set of wheels, then fitting and balancing and that included the spare wheel so 5 in all. I'm in expensive land as far as anything car goes, and this seemed a fair price to me.

Just been quoted £12 each corner. He seemed abit iffy when i said they are 195 45. Said ooh last time i did a low profile my machine slipped. Are the wheels on your car new? FLOL. Aint going there in a hurry.

Yeah some places don't like fitting tyres when you didn't buy them from there. Mainly big companies such as kwik fit etc.

Find a local garage, they usually don't bother where you got them from.

We do, buy used semis for track and swap em around whenever, can also swap em round to prolong life etc

Oo and the bonus of doing mates for cheap too

Got them all fitted. £52.80. Told me to keep the too rear ones as spare. As they still have loads left. Which i knew about, just wanted to do all four.

May sell them on ebay to make some dosh back.

thats the other issue (aswell as where they decide to jack it) - they always scratch the alloys when doing a tyre change - getting new tyres is not an enjoyable experience for me!

Was that £300 new or you find it cheap, also is it 240v 3pin house socket. Did it come scratch protectors for gripping the wheel as they are typically quite rough on wheels.

It's used mate, local garage were upgrading and I knew somebody that knew somebody! It is a 240v normal plug. It doesn't have any protectors, were still learning to be nice and gentle with it to avoid damage!

Sorry for all the Q's, im going to look into getting one at my lock up. Is it fully electric or you have a compressor too? You take them to garage to balance aye?

Air compressor as well mate. I've got w wee 50ltr/8bar and it does the job! We've got a balancer as well, was another £100
