Tyre help please

  Broken Diesel Megane :(
maybe wrong forum but anyway.

have a couple of slow punctures on my car at front and am currently running 195/45/r16's all round.

wanting to know if its ok to put
205/40/r15
or
205/45/r16
or
215/40/r16
or
215/45/r16

and continue with the 195s at the back?

is any of these combinations ok or not work? :S

ok cheers jus thought that as the drive was at front that is where the wider tyres (more grip) would be needed.

make SURE you keep the rolling radius the same though, or it confuses the hell out of the ABS / EBD stetup.............but seeing as i have just noticed you have a CUP............it doesnt really matter lol..Rob.

no. no ABS for those "oh sh*t!" moments lol. back end slipping out doesnt matter too much, managed to get a beamer through the winter ok with lots of good fun/brown stain moments lol

Putting wider tyres at the front would be illegal, so you would have to swap them around.

I kept with 195 / 45 / 16s and found they give plenty of grip.

no its not illegal.

Only illegal to have 2 different sizes on the same axle apart from in an emergecny.

Thus you cannae drive about for 6 months on a space saver!

Thousands of fwd cars run wider tyres on the front on the road, especially the drag queens.
