tyre pressures...

  '02 Monaco Blue 172
I've done a fair few searches on here and everyone seems to recommend 33 front/31 rear, which I have recently put in after putting 4 new conti sports on, and it seems to understeer more on bends now and just feels lighter on frontt!
I think I had 31/30 previously, would this slow the car down/inrease tyre wear though?
195/45/16 172 ff by the way!

If they're brand new they may need to scrub the very top layer off to get to the stickier stuff underneath, so give them 100-200 miles or so.

Other than that feel free to experiment with pressures - set them low and see how it feels round a circuit of roundabouts near you (junctions off A-roads/motorways are good for this as they're big), then set them high and see how they feel again. Work your way towards a middle ground compromise that suits you and the tyres :)
