Tyre question

Whats the difference between Z and Y rating. I was told i needed a Z rated tyre but Goodyear F1s (225/45/17s) only come in Y.

But theres no way youll ever exceed the limit, so not a problem!

Who the hell told you you needed a z rated tyre on a 1.2.

Should be H rated on a 1.2, and usually V for medium models like the 1.6 and then V or Z for the top ones.

Youll never get near the ratings anyway.

Its for an Alfa GTV V6, my bad anyway, theyre ZR rated, i was looking at some other thingy!

I was ordering new rear tyres for hubbys car today and asked this question and was told that unless I drive at 200mph I dont need to know!

I have ordered some Z rated tyres today for the Beemer but you certainly dont need them for a 1.2 Rob WHAT SPEED CAN YOU DO IN A 1.2?

T rated = up to 118mph and H rated = up to 130mph - you certainly dont need Z Rob!!

Think Y rating goes to 186mph, Z is over 149, though can be a bit dodgy at that speed!
