Tyre Weld stuff

  Cupra K1 & Clio 200

need to remove my spare wheel for new ICE setup. Jus wondering if this Holt Tyre Weld stuff is really as good as they say. So basically u jus spray it in and it fixes it and INFLATES it?!?!?

oh and is it ok for ur mot?? cheers

Youre only supposed to use this stuff to get you home on same as a spare !! It basically seals when it contacts the outside air which is warmer then you can inflate it !! you wont pass your MOT with it !!

Holts might be okay for a puncture, but when I was driving my MK2 172 around with no spare, and I got a flat, I hopped out of the car with my Tire Weld in hand, only to discover that the whole sidewall of the Contish*te had come off, rendering the foam utterly useless.

It inflates the tyre and seals up the hole.......well thats the theory!!!!!!!!

Depends on the type of puncture you get. I was sat at the side of the road for a good two hours because the hole (which was in the centre of the tread) was too big, and two cans of this stuff just kept squirting back out. I jacked up the car to take the pressure off to no avail.

Conclusion. sh*t for anything but small punctures. I wished I had a spare that night!!!

Its just to get you home really.

It wont fix it, you will need a replacement tyre.

A tyre place wont be able to fix the puncture either.

The MOT requires if you have a spare wheel, it must be road legal.

It doesnt require you to actually have one, so if you havent got one it doesnt matter.

  172 cup,s2 rs turbo

i bought a spare wheel for my cup because when i had to use that tyre stuff once it was utter w**k.

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

i used it with a massive chunk of metal that deflated my tyre in about 40 seconds flat, and it worked a treat! made a mess but the tyre was solid after a few mins.

Always have some now!

most places wont do a punture repair in the tyre if its been treated with the stuff as well.

Its great stuff but has limited uses - our low profile tyres are very vulnerable to sideall dadamge which wont be fixed by tyre weld.

best use is to give the mrs a can for peace of mind when driving on her own
