Tyres for 200?

Hi guys,

Just got my 200 last week , and I would like to know what people think are the best tyres for it, or at least a couple of brands that stand out.

I'm also just wondering if it's normal on a cold, wet morning to hear a scraping/grinding noise from the rear brakes when I apply pressure to the pedal. It goes away fairly quickly, once I've used them a fair bit.

Brake noise is just surface rust.

The Yokohama ad08's are recommended, I'll probably try them next, but the standard contisport 3's are excellent.

You will be hard pushed to find any conti sport contact 3s in 87w which is the standard tyre. I went for the 91Vs last time and i didnt like the difference, but it might have been in my head. Most people including myself have just gone for the contact 5s, they come as standard on the 19" Meg 265 wheels so seems a natural progression to me and at a similar price.

The dealer I bought mine from stuck a set of Avon ZV5 on the front as they needed replacing and they didn't have any Conti's available at the time. They're pretty decent and I don't notice them losing grip before the Contact 3's on the back. Decent in the wet too.

Think I'll be going for Ad08's next though!

Pirelli Pzero Nero, Conti Sport 5s, Vredestein sportrac or ultracs. They are all great.

Conti's are great mate.

Used them at Combe and they work a treat. Great tyre for every day use too.

Having had a good look around I think I'm going to go for Yoko AD08's on my cup wheels. They look ace and are getting very good reviews.

They're not actually that bad. Could still as much as a normal set of road tyres out of them depending on how you drive on them.
