Tyres help please?

  Tango'd PB 1.2 16V
Just got the 172 Alloys refurbed - They look insane and i can't wait to get em on.
Need a set of tyres to wrap em with though.
Unsure on numbers and all that malarchy.
195/45/16 over 205/45/16 blah blah blah.
I know its something to do with the profile of them, i'd just rather someone told me which to get. haha.
I'm just after some pretty cheap tyres as i'm skint enough as it is. :/
Seen some on camskill.co.uk, both the above are £39.10 each, so can someone enlighten me, which is better + will i need spacers on the old 1.2?
Cheers,
D

I have 172 alloys on my 1.2 fine with no spacers, you do get a bit of rubbing at first on the rear plastic shock covers, it sort of wears through slighty and the slight sound stops, slightly but no actual problems.

for the tyre info there are guides that explain it out there, but briefly, 195 is the width of the tyre - 19.5cm, 45 is the thickness of the tyre from alloy out to end of tyre... 4.5cm, 16 is 16" wheel... then you have your speed ratings but you dont need to worry on a 1.2 haha

Im using Kumho KH31 in size 195/45/16 for about £49 per tyre... and they are very good, if you are looking for cheep tyres just go for ones with a decent price or link what you are thinking of....

Could go for Toyo TR1s, they are popular because cheap, good in dry but some say a bit lively in the wet, there are other options out there.

I had them on my old one originally, a ph1 and they rubbed to fack, on the back anyway.
I don't really want the same to happen, so if its worth investing in some 25mm spacers or whatever, i may.
Cheers for explaining that, haha, Guessed the 16 bit anyway.
Here's what i was thinking of. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m62b0s94p2111
At risk of sounding like a cheapskate, i'd wanna add that i am a student haha.

25mm spacers will look good for ...well looks, rears spaced out does look good but going that far out make sure its hubcentric with the spacers... i personally would wait, i tired 5mm spacers and ended up not using them, 172 alloys on a 1.2 are okay...

Nankang tyres yep they're alright, they will see you on the road fine as long as you aren't a very spirited driver not chucking it round corners majorly fast, you only need to bother with the high end tyres on fast road or track cars...

I thought 25mm seemed a lot haha,
Not up on all this spacing jobby.
I'll price some up anyway.

So should i go for the 195/45/16's then?
And i think this car'll be in the scrapyard in the sky before it touches a track...

Cheers for the help anyway pal.

I have oz f1s on my 1.2 with sportlines too, rear left rubbed. 5mm sorted it out fine, even with passengers.

195/45/16 is standard for the alloys you've got i think, so yeah they will fit and that's what they should have on them, as some people say the tyres are the only thing beween the car and the road, so dont skimp on purely s**t tyres, the ones you've linked will be fine for normal driving and some dry enthusiastic driving.

Google hub centric spacers and do some research on them or look on the forum, plenty of info...
