Tyres question on Avon ZZ3

  Motorbikes
Quick one here and you lot might be able to help... posted this on a an Astra forum too but no luck so far and as it could be generic through all cars with these tyres though you might be able to help.

The wheels on my Astra seem to be going out of balance reguarly (every couple of weeks) and its getting quite annoying if I'm honest. I had Avon ZZ3 tyres fitted on the front in June and I've covered around 7k miles since.

I've heard the sidewall on the Avons are very soft and can cause balancing issues and uneven tyre wear.... any truth in this? Only had the problem since these tyres were fitted

Also, sometimes they appear to be out of balance at 70mph as the steering wheel wobbles, but sometimes if I slow down then speed back up again for reduced speed limits the wobble disappears which makes me wonder if its even the wheel balancing... any ideas? Suspension or steering components?

Cheers!

Thanks for the link, some interesting reading in there. Will swap my wheels around tonight and see how they feel tomorrow.

Aye i've got ZZ3's seem pretty good so far, not really that arsed about how long they last, i'll get the winter out of them and change again for next summer if need be..

I get the steering wobble from time to time too..

Got them on the GTi, not noticed any wobbles. Side walls don't see any softer than the likes of F1's or Toyos.

Perhaps we can wobble together sometime?

How often you get the wobble? Do you just ride through the turbulence and carry on?
