Tyres Speed Rating

About to buy 2 new tyres for the wifes 182. Was about to buy 83W speed rating but thought I'd check the 2 PE2's already fitted at the back. Turns out their 83V's.

So my question is did Renault fit them with 83v's or 83w's?

Just wanted to check as you never know if previous owners fit the right tyres.

cant remember matey but either will be fine, V is rated up to 149 mph and the load ratings are the same

W is a higher speed rating than V so they'll be fine. Think they were V originally.

Cheers. Wasn't sure if the W's would have a stiffer tyre wall than the V's or does that go by the "83" part?

I'll go for the V's anyway.
