Tyres

Car  182 Cup
Folks

I am considering buying a set of 16 inch alloys and sticking my exaltos onto them. The tyres currently on the new wheels are 195/45/16 and the exaltos are /205/45/16.

Would the exaltos fit onto the new wheels ok or would I need to have more information to know for sure?

What width are the new wheels?

It'll be on them somewhere. Something like 7JJ16ET45. The width is the first number.

But if they're 16" diameter wheels, and they've already got 195/45x16s on them its almost certain 205/45s aill fit.

It all depends on the width of the rim. A 195 tyre is usually like a 6.5J or something, whereas a 205 can be a 7J, and even though they'd fit, it'd stretch the sidewall, and having a small sidewall anyway, well, it wouldn't be too advisable. Get more info on the width of the rim. You'll be fine with the 16part. There's also the "rolling radius" to take into account. Obviously with changin the width of the tyre and keeping the sidewall the same, the rolling radius may be different, which just means you'll probably have a harder ride and feel everything on the road.
