as i understand it, theres 2 different ways of measuring bhp. one is direct from the engine, the other is through the tyres. renault clearly do it directly through the engine, while peugeot appear to do it in reality terms. the bhp on a mini for example is done as an average.

Spot on. A LOT of bhp claims are at the engine. Thats why when talking tuning the quote will often be written as at the wheels meaning the actual output to the road. Most likely the engine output itself would be higher but lost through transmission etc.

so in that case ps isnt bhp as its a different measure centigrade and farenhite they measure the same thing but do it differently
