I use AppZapper which makes sure you get all files removed from the HDD.

You can drag it into the trash but some stray files may be left behind.

Only preferences in ~/Library, which doesn't matter. If you're really bothered you can just go in there and drag those to the trash as well.

AppZapper does it all without any bother so I'm happy to use that.
