Universal Air Filter

Does anyone know what diameter the intake pipe I would need for a universal filter such as the BMC or Ramair Max-flow. The car is a MkII 172 btw.

if you want a universal air filter mate, esp if your after a BMC, then go to your local Motor World, as long as they have the BMC catalogue and are willing to spend some time with you, you should be able to get a good sized filter that will fit for about £55, and thats the twin cone version

if your after a BMC CDA then they do a specific fit kit for it, buy that, not the universal boxes

Thanks for that, Ive been scowering the net for info and pics. I fancy an enclosed filter but dont really fancy paying £200 for a Viper or BMC. Allwoods do a Ractive universal enclosed filter for £40 but where would I run the ducting from?
