Upgrading Home Cinema Surround for Music

  SchwepTek™
Currently in my room I have a Denon AVR-1603 and a Yamaha nx-220p 5.1 speaker system.

Although i am perfectly happy with it for movies, its not quite powerful enough for music. (i like it loud) The sub bass is a bit weak so is it worth upgrading just the sub? If so, what do i need?

Also have been told it might be worth upgrading the front speakers to bookshelf speakers?

Cheers

I'd consider Quad speakers, sublime musicality, finesse and build quality in these units.

Also consider upgrading the amp too (Arcam are a good match for Quad speakers)

lol...

Thanks for the help but I can't afford to replace it all.

It sounds good for anything i throw at it but sometimes the sub pops with loud explosions whilst gaming, etc.

I haven't got the money to spend £300 on a sub.
