upgrading speakers in 172

  Golf R32 & 172 CUP

right can i use the subs out of an alpine comonent set for the fronts and use the OE tweeters and crossovers i.e just literally swap the mids and thats it?

Whats the best speakers for the rear for around £50?

And is it an easy job getting to the speakers?

You could yes, but if you have the component set...why not just change it all.

Taking the dash of really isnt difficult, it just looks well...scary!

Just be brave, its simple and you will get much more benefit from the new tweeters.

Trust me those standard tweeters are nasty, they used to give me sore ears. Especially with any music that had drums in it!

I have audiobahn components in the front running from my amp and they sound so clear. I then have 13cm pioneer emotions in the back and a 12" alpine sub in the boot. Think it gives great sound, even at loud volume!

There isnt a proper cross over, the low pass filter is actually on the speakers afaik. Get an extension iso adaptor from halfords (£10ish) and cut that about so you can use the crossovers.

Just buy some decent components for the front, forget rear speakers. The moneys better spent on front comps TBH.

And the speakers in the front easy enough to get to, but the wiring for them is a nightmare!
