Urgent!!!!!!!!

Need a quick response guys/gals.
Is a MK2 172 and MK2 172 Cup got exactly the same engine dimensions and set up?
Only reason i ask is need to know if a BMC CDA from a 172 Cup will fit on my 172.
Know it sounds silly just need confirmation!

yeah i think so the only difference is that the cup doesnt have an engine cover iirc?

i think its no more than just unscrewing fastening clips and screws mate, 90deg bend just pulls out of position once unscrewed/clipped IIRC.

It's not difficult but as mentioned it can be a bit of a fiddle getting the original airbox back in without losing skin on your fingers. But seeing as you are putting a replacement in it will be a piece of cake.

it sits nicely in there. you need to take your battery out to get to it.

there's a few places the cold air feed can go, but most of them involve scaping knuckles and a bit of swearing!
Tiny bit more room for Cup's without the air con...
