Using competition tyres

Anyone tried any of these - thinking about the barely legal slicks like Yokohama A048-R, for trackdays?

wen u say "barely legal" does that mean that their allowed for the road or not?

theyfully raod legal, but only just !!

go for it, they wont alst long on the raods tho

hmmm might b tricky if u driving to the track in them, but iirc, avon r now doing a tyre similar 2 that 1,which is road legal! think its the zzr? or sommat like that!

Thoses Yokos are road legal.

Toyo were showing their new "Road legal" semi slicks off at Donny North this year.

Would be nice to get some I think - such a pain in the @ss swapping wheels when you get to the track - even worse swapping them back at the end of the day Sooo much easier to do it at home before the event.

Yup, fully road legal.....you need a 17% tread to be legal.

And they are great, worth about 2+ secs a lap.

Most people in HK use them as daily tyres since milage is so low there.

But you wont see more than 2K out of them if used daily....and they cost a freaking fortune.

Avons ones ACB10s are crossplies and no radial so you need to take all the camber off your car.

Pinched the wheels off our Megane - 6 x 15" Got slicks on them at the moment.
