Using PC and Webcam for CCTV

Im going to use Windows Media Encoder 9 and a webcam, really want a good infra-red one but to start a normal one will do.

do you think its as easy as pluging in the webcam, installing WME 9, setting it up and recording to the hard drive.?

looks quite a good idea that, bit of port forwarding and you can watch while your at work.

You can buy kits from Currys etc. Mrs's mum has them at her house. Only records when movement is dectected but can be watched at any time
