V5.. DVLA.. HELP

Car  Fiesta ST-3
I am in the latter stages of sticking a 172 phase 1 into a Megane Coupe and im doing it all legit. So that includes notifying the DVLA of the engine change, thing is they dont make it easy to do thing legit at all.

After sending my V5 off i had a letter returned with it stating i would need an engineers report, engine code (even tho mines rusted off) and id need to put the actual CC of the engine.

Originally i put 1'998 as i thought that was correct but the letter stated i would need to get the engine CC correct as very rarely are engine sizes 1998 exact.. :S

So whats the right CC to put, does anyone have an engine code off a scraped lump (phase 1 172) and i think thats it. I have the engineers report now.

Cheers :)

it is a pain.on my 2lt conversion they took 3 months to get back to me.
I think the CC is right 1998.

I thought that the coupe 2lt was the same as the 172-182 sept for the compression ???

No problems though :)

You might need the full number, is there no way of seeing it on yours mate?

Guessing you have decided to keep instead of selling?

Yea im keeping it all mate, and Craig has told me its well and truley rusted off! Such a pain in the arse.

Ye you need the Whole engine number Scotty,
i still need to do mine, just cba going down to renault to get them to write a report,

does it take 3 months for DVla to sent it back?

No i dont think so, i sent mine off initially and when they told me the couldnt do it that only took a week or so. Craig has written me up a letter confiriming everything was done legit but he thinks i should be ok without an engine code :S
