v6 kit on mk1 172

  A SHED!
How much would it cost to fit and spray one of these? also do you have extend the wheels out etc? cheers

Getting the work done would probably be expensive, because of the amount of parts involved and im guessing its not a easy job too! Mite get away with spacers for the wheels!

Ignore the smart arse comments, id love to see it done!

Sorry to be an arse but ive never seen the point in building a car you can buy,for how much it would cost you could sell the 172 and use the money which you would need to do it and buy a mk1 v6

As mentioned further up (or down if on linear view) in the thread...

Just buy a v6 for £11-12 k

  A SHED!
Some people cant afford the servicing for a v6 or £11-12k for the actual car in one lump sum. So whats people's problem if i like the look of the v6 body and want it on a 172? i dont want the running costs, insurance etc of the v6? And no its not like sticking badges on a rs model etc.

my nigel has this done and it cost him a fortune

(he did get lambo doors done though)

the kit alone is £1300 for a non replica moulded one

you need 3" spacers

fogs

mesh

exhuast re aligned/made

spare car when yours is in the bodyshop for half a year

added insurance costs due to what you have done to the car

and a buyer for it when you realise that it would have been better to wait and buy a v6

my insurance will be £1402 fully comp with elesphant with 1 year no claims and 22 yrs old- not that bad!

I would be concerned about the stain 3" spacers would cause on doing this exterior modification.

Renault probably spent thousands designing the bodywork on a clio v6 in wind tunnels, which would have been designed to give more downforce to the back wheels and downforce to the rear wheels on a fwd isnt much good,a bit like putting a cossie spoiler on a fwd
