v6 or r26.r

  e60 M5 -172- dciheid
for me....

mk2 v6
+ rare factor
+ sense of occasion
+ gearbox

- not 'that' quick
- RWD in a tight chassis can make back end snappy
- Part costs are horrendous

R26R
+ track focused
+ real drivers car
+ will hold value well, but not as well as v6s

- could be hard to live with as a 'daily'
- not hugely special compared to other meganes really
- well spec'd ones still nudge 19-20k

I think that the r26r could be a better daily but i am not sure i but ive never bin in one.

Harnesses and buckets would be a pain in the R26.R every day, that and the finger marks all over the back windows. I like touching them

The vee isn't great on fuel for every day, and service parts are very steep. A lot of people buy them with rose tinted specs, then realise they can't afford to run it with the price of tyres, brakes etc...

All in all, I've managed to say nothing helpful about either.

I hate to say that i'd only have a Vee if i had a second car to run along side it.

The Vee is too much of a cut the ribbon car. I would feel bad using it as a daily and piling the mileage on.

The R26R, again, if i had a second car, could you use it every day? I dont think i could, the roll cage and varios other elements would make you drve it like it was intended.. fast..

I'd have the V6, for no other reason than im a life long fan

totally depends on needs, i own a meg but long for a vee, im sure one or two vee owners would like megs... in short f**k knows

V6 for me, even if the R26.R has red wheels, carbon, harnesses and a cage, a V6 is still that little bit more special, IMO.

As a road car, the vee.... just for the looks and the noise.

If was a toy for the track, the R26 would just about pip it i think.

R26.r aaalllllll day

I have absolutely no interest in vee's at all.

I only use my car 2-3 times a week anyway and even then it's mostly just for the drive as we use the gf's corsa for shopping duties etc.

Also I think the kegs ARE rarer. Never seen one up here but there's quite a few unknown vee's.

I think that apart from the harness the meg is more practical in everyway.

But........... It's your money. END

r26.r every time. for looks, how it drives, performance etc. and i think it would be more suitable as a daily driver than a vee. more boot space for shopping, better to park, not as wide! would be a paranoid mess if i owned a vee!

personally I would say r26r mate. Drive one and you'll instantly love it I guarantee. You feel instantly at ease with it. Plus it's easier to tune and sounds amazing (althought the Vee does trump it on noise). Plus the megane is more practical. Yes the 6 point harnesses might be a bit annoying, but you'll get used to it. Seats are very comfy and driving position is great for track (would imagine for parking it could be a bit hard work though - get some parking sensors ;))

2 massively different cars. Would depend on the type of driving you do. Although I do think the R26r would be a bit of a one trick pony, and the Vee has more strings to its bow.

Assuming we're talking ph2 vee, ph1 vee it would be the megane everytime.

  PH1 V6
Have to say i would own a vee, i just love how different they are to everything else on the road!

Having said that if i was driving long distance / the occassional track day then i would buy the meg!

thers a chap i know who has both the r26r and mk2 vee....and he much prefers the r26r as a daily driver, yeah he has said it can be a pain with the harnesess but he said after a while you get ysed to them and its a little bit more practical for when you need to go to tesco so the vee stays in the garage purely for going to the ring and other trackdays

He only uses the vee for trackdays? if i owned one i wouldnt take it anywhere near a track lol i would use the meg for that!

I'd want to use both on track. I wouldn't want to use either as a daily runner.

Both would be a riot on track, and both are hardly the most practical road car. Odd choice to have to make. I think I'd choose the Megane, as it'll be superior on the track (I imagine) and I don't really like the looks of the V6.

Personal choice really. I can't see how any opinions on here would sway the decision one way or the other.

I'd have the R26 over the R26R for starters.

V6 is a great car overall, so much personality and i enjoy driving it when i get a chance. But its a pain in the tits in reality, it's loud, very uncomfy (mine) you don't feel comfortable leaving it, it's not carpark friendly. It 101% a 2nd car.
